Charles, a retiree, finds new life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary El Agente Topo. A remake of Agente Mole (2020). I think a lot of literary works naturally aim to make the viewer think, “It was an honor to share the lives of these fictional characters.” This show certainly accomplishes that goal well. Even those coming for a less mystery-focused show should be captivated by the humanity shown not only in the writing but also in the performances of all the cast members. Congratulations to all involved. Although Netflix has been tough on renewing shows lately, I hope they live up to the potential of this show by giving it a season 2, because I can’t wait to see more of these incredible characters’ journeys.
